Transmute Worry into the Creative Energy of Peace

“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28

In this holy moment, set the intention to receive the fullness of God’s blessings as we surrender to God and allow God’s Plan for our lives to be revealed. In common hours, too often we allow our worries and doubts to steal the best that Life offers us. Usually, this mode of living brings forth a dark reflection of the life we truly desire. If we want to adopt a divinely centered lifestyle, we can begin by regularly surrendering to God and allowing the Christ of our Being to give us the peace we need to create effectively in God’s Name. Today, periodically take time to surrender your worry and your concerns to Christ and allow the Grace of God to comfort, to support and to inspire you to act.

Let Us Pray:

Dear God, this day, I pray that we take time to find your comforting peace within us. Thank You Lord for delivering us from disquieting emotions; there is a great tranquility sweeping over us now. As we relax into You, Father, we feel a stillness filling us with peace. Thank You, God, for visions of Your Holy Harmony; the divine Visions which enable us to transform all our worries and concerns into creative energies. Immersed in peace, we can hear the still, small voice that guides us to entertain beautiful ideas, create solutions, nurture relationships and manifest valuable objects for navigating the landscapes of our human environment and circumstances. Let our every thought, action, and experience ultimately serve You, Lord. As we create within Your Peace, we are aligned with Divine Order and the assurance that All is Well.
Thank You, God!

Selah!
Amen!

Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? – Matthew 6-27

Seed of Faith

seed of faith

God, My Seed of Faith

By faith, even Sarah herself received power to conceive, and she bore a child when she was past age, since she counted him faithful who had promised.– Hebrews 11:11

Today, I take the time to nurture the God Seed within me. I let it germinate in the darkness of my shifting moods and illusory challenges. I let it send delicate roots of wisdom into my heart and tender shoots of love into my mind. I let It feed on the kindness of loved ones and strangers alike. I water it with Words of Truth, the energy of possibility, and my devotion to God through prayer, meditation, and other spiritual practices. I surrender myself to the ever expanding Christ.

Let Us Pray:

Father, we love You and thank You for Your creative presence within us. We appreciate our expanding awareness of Your activity in our heart and our mind. Although we may not be able to explain the mystery of Your nature, nor the surprising wonder of Your ways, we can feel You stirring within us and cultivate the feeling as we endeavor to experience greater intimacy with You. Even as we would tend a garden we love, we nurture the seed ideas of faithfulness, wholeness, completeness, and Divine sufficiency. We grow in the awareness of You as the One in Whom we find fulfillment.

Thank You, God! Thank You, Jesus! Thank You, Holy Spirit!

Selah!

Amen!

That which you sow, you don’t sow the body that will be, but a bare grain, maybe of wheat, or of some other kind. But God gives it a body even as it pleased him, and to each seed a body of its own. – 1 Corinthians 15:37-38

Go forth my friend cultivating the God seed in you.

Simple Joys: Finding Happiness in your Own

Do you find yourself often feeling tired, spent, or even exhausted? Maybe you feel challenged to find balance and contentment. Human lives can get very complicated sometimes. However, it’s possible to discover some of the simpler joys in life to soothe your soul. Simple pleasures are all around you. You just have to be alert to notice
them.

Try these strategies to cultivate more joy in your everyday life:

1. Marvel, once again, about the clouds in the sky. When was the last time you did this? When you were small, you probably laid on a blanket outdoors, staring up at the sky, looking for interesting shapes in the clouds. Why not do it now?

• Invite your partner or your kids to go outside with you. Grab a blanket on your way out the door. Then, lay back in the soft grass. No radios or phones! Look up and lose yourself in the clouds. Be present in only this moment. No past – no future – there’s only now. Share what you see with your loved ones.

• You’ve just found a very simple pleasure – one you can enjoy almost any time.

2. Watch a sunset. Talk about a wondrous event! Sunsets vary each day. Like snowflakes, no two are exactly alike.

• Watching the sunset can be an awesomely peaceful and quiet experience. Or it can be the cause for a celebration, whatever you choose. However you approach it, sunset watching is an effortless joy that won’t cost you a penny.

3. Re-discover nature. No matter where you live, you can walk outdoors and see what’s there. Even in Brooklyn, a tree is probably growing near you.

• Do you love birds? Get a pair of binoculars and sit outdoors on the porch step and watch the free show that only birds can present.

• If you’re into horticulture, take a walk to admire all the lovely trees and plants you see.

• For a real treat, drive to your local national park and take in all the bounty of simple pleasures that nature provides.

4. Revive your love of reading. Whether you’re curling up on the sofa with a novel byyour favorite author or sitting in the sun reading one of the classics, reading is a simple joy that you can do anytime you want.

5. Spend a day in your pajamas. You know you want to!

• After you’ve had one of those really hectic weeks where work and personal situations collided to produce a lot of tension, try setting aside a weekend day where you don’t even get dressed.

• Spend the day lying around in your PJs. All day, do whatever you like. Talk with your kids or spend quality time with your partner. Maybe you just want to read. That’s okay, too! It’s your day, after all.

6. Make yourself a great cup of coffee, your favorite iced latte, or glass of tea and relax. Sometimes, all you need to feel better is doing something simple: fix your favorite beverage and take five.

7. Decide to do whatever you want just for one hour today. Life can seem so overwhelming sometimes that you may feel totally disconnected from the activities you love to do.

• Whether you enjoy doing a particular craft or playing a sport for fun, make time to do what excites you. Creating a life of harmony includes regularly seeking out simple pleasures. Very little money is required, so you can experience joy in your life every day. Make an effort to find your simple joys, and you can create the life you deserve.

My Mind Is a Center for Divine Operation

Hello my friend, this is your Thought for Today from Detroit Unity Temple on Second Boulevard near Palmer Park.

We ought always to thank God for you, brothers, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love every one of you has for each other is increasing – 2 Thessalonians 1:3

Genevieve Behrend often quotes Thomas Troward in her book Your Invisible Power. Today, I will share the paragraph she said seems to be the greatest thing I had ever read. These words arrested her attention to the degree that she committed them to memory, repeated them often and thus crossed the threshold into a life of spiritual study, teaching and contentment.

“My mind is a center of Divine operation. The Divine operation is always for expansion and fuller expression, and this means the production of something beyond what has gone before, something entirely new, not included in the past experience, though proceeding out of it by an orderly sequence of growth. Therefore, since the Divine cannot change its inherent nature, it must operate in the same manner with me; consequently, in my own special world, of which I am the center, it will move forward to produce new conditions, always in advance of any that have gone before.”

Let Us Pray:

Dear Lord, today, I open myself to Your Divine operation in my mind. Thank You for fulfilling my intention to be more fully conscious of Your activity in my life, for showing me how to have faith in Your Invisible Presence in the face of circumstances that appear overwhelming. Thank You for showing me the expansive power of prospering thoughts, healing thoughts, loving thoughts and forgiving thoughts. In the name of Jesus, the expansive nature of Christ, let me know beyond even a shadow of doubt that my mind is a center of Divine operation.

Thank You God!

So Let It Be! And So It Is!

Amen!

Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.”

She left him and afterward shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. – 2 Kings 4:4-5

…I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. – John 10:10

Making Peace with your Office Life: Start within You

Personal growth can be challenging. But working around people who you wish would change often requires even more effort. You might not be able to completely avoid working with others whose habits you dislike, but you can focus your energy on being the best person you can be.

When you do the best you can, you feel good about how you’re living. By being the change you want to see in others, you make your own life happier.

Also, it’s likely that other people will see your increased satisfaction. When they do, they’ll want what you have. If you lead by example, you have a good chance at “converting” some people over to your way of thinking and acting.

Physical Changes Can Help Others Succeed

For anyone who’s surly at the office, unhealthy eating might be a cause. With this, you can set an example for your associates. That doesn’t mean always pushing the latest diet fad or harassing co-workers about their weight. Instead, live your life in a healthy, positive manner. Others may see that they can do it, too.

Try organizing healthy activities for people in the office. If you already do things as a group outside of work, you can move carefully toward more healthful activities. You don’t have to run a marathon to be healthy – it can be as simple as a quick lunchtime walk.

If you can get your co-workers moving, you can effect lasting, positive change.

Mental and Emotional Changes Bring Joy

To help your associates be more harmonious, try these tips:

1. Play background music. Quiet and peaceful music works best. The selections should be something that almost everyone will like. Also, not everyone tunes out background noise well, so the music must be soft and generally without lyrics.

2. Affirm others and speak well of them. At times, you may have co-workers you don’t care for, but there’s no reason to bad-mouth them. Find something nice to say to them or about them. If you really can’t say anything positive, simply keep quiet. Gossiping solves nothing.

3. Choose your battles. There will always be times when situations don’t go exactly as you planned, or when you have to stand up for yourself and your beliefs. You can do that in a non-confrontational way. Consider the interests and needs of the people you’re interacting with. Talk to them intelligently and be fair. Avoid attacking them personally.

If the battle isn’t one that you really must win, let it go.

Overall, when you’re more relaxed and happy, others around you will be that way too. They’ll see that they don’t need to be short-tempered or angry to get things done. Positivity is a great message to send out to your workplace and to the world as a whole. When others adopt your new attitude, you spread happiness far beyond your immediate circle of influence.

Speak and interact gently in the workplace. You know you have good intentions, but others may not. Avoid criticizing people or demanding that they do things your way. When you are peaceful and happy, others will eventually follow.

My Loved Ones Bless Me in Mutually Enriching Ways

loved-ones

Hello my friend, this is your Thought for Today from Detroit Unity Temple on Second Boulevard near Palmer Park.

My Loved Ones Bless Me in Mutually Enriching Ways

Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. – Exodus 20:12

My family and friends naturally prosper me, enrich me and bless me.  They help me bring forth my precious gifts of Spirit.   I endeavor to do likewise for them. The people I love mean so much to me! My family and friends are true channels of joy for me, and I support them with every opportunity I get. We support each other in love.  We happily provide physical, emotional, spiritual and financial support to each other whenever there is a need.  Our relationships are anchored in God’s Kingdom and demonstrate a microcosm of a world that works for everyone.

I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I enjoy relating to their interests and dreams. I adopt a child’s heart when I interact with the children.  I attentively listen to the aspirations and dreams of the teens and young adults. I want my family and friends to feel heard and respected and loved. I laugh and will even act silly with everyone when we are simply having fun and celebrating life.

Let Us Pray:

Dear Lord, Father, Mother, God; Bless my family, friends and all of whom I am conscious, with  well-being, peace, abundance and soul-deep fulfillment. Mother, Your presence is comforting. Just the thought of You, brings peace to my heart and Love inspired action to my mind. Thank You Father for empowering me to bless my family and friends materially and emotionally! I am grateful for Your Grace God, Your Grace sustains my family, my friends and me. Your Grace is the Source of my love and my growing appreciation for all that You Are. Lord, You expand my capacity to love and to be the Blessing I pray to be.  Thank You for Loving me through family, friends and apparent strangers; I accept Your Love as the characterizing Truth of my life. May those in my sphere of influence come to know a Oneness with You that anchors our connections with each other, and is grounded in Your Loving Wisdom as a dynamic demonstration of Your Kingdom being established on earth!

Thank You God!

Amen!

Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. – Matthew 19:19
